The main news from us this month is that on Saturday 2nd of February (2019), we are having a party to celebrate the 50th edition of the magazine. The party is from 7pm to 11pm in the town hall in Hebden Bridge and will feature a DJ, the celebrated Indian dancer Srikant Subramaniam and hopefully a short presentation from the magazine’s chosen charity which is Watermark (flood fund). There will also be a small buffet. The party is free for all people (and a guest) who have contributed to the magazine since it began in January 2015 and will be an opportunity to meet other members of the From The Horse’s Mouth family.
Other news…
The August publication is very interesting as it looks at the work of an excellent charity called The Hive (Halifax) which works with adults with learning difficulties, a fascinating interview about a steam tug called Kerne and a look at modern Britain through the eyes of an intelligent young woman. It also includes an Elvis and Beatles quiz as well as the popular ‘My Not Very Serious Stars’. You can look at our website at: www.fromthehorsesmouth.org.uk
The magazine, in general, is developing well although we are always open to new ideas. We have recently opened it up to advertising but have not seriously pursued this avenue of investigation. If you are interested in advertising in the magazine, please contact us at: dean@fthm.org.uk
This publication is completely self-funding but we would appreciate it if you would consider making a donation to help cover the running costs.
