When did this magazine start? In its current form, it started nearly 12 years ago and this is the 142nd edition. However, the magazine is part of a project which also includes: two free CDs of music, a free book about my life called Warts and Almost All and a free children’s book entitled Ringo Rattlesnake and the Vipers. All this can be accessed through our website: https://fromthehorsesmouth.org.uk
Do you think the magazine is progressing well? Progress could be faster but there is so much competition on the internet. We are hoping more people will get involved with us in the future, as new blood is always needed for growth of content.
Who are your main readers? I think more women than men read the magazine. We have readers all over the world, especially in the UK and the US.
Are you religious? Not really. When I was younger, I looked into Christianity, and to a lesser degree, Buddhism, but it wasn’t for me as I found it hard to believe that there is a supernatural being orchestrating everything. But I don’t know what is the truth.
Do you have a lot of close friends? No. I know a lot of people locally but don’t have many close friends. My life has changed dramatically since my lovely friend Brenda went into care. I feel a bit lost.
What’s life like in Halifax? I like it here and am treated well by local people who are mostly friendly.
Can you see yourself ever living in a different country? I’m not sure as I depend on a lot of medication to keep me well. I also need my bipolar and heart monitoring.
What do you think of modern sport? I think its entertainment and a distraction from more important considerations. I like watching football but the money involved at the top level sickens me. Last night I paid £24 to watch an entertaining game between FC Halifax and Hartlepool.
What do you think of sports like boxing? I think it’s amazing, in this day and age, that people watch boxers trying to knock each other senseless.
Do you admire any celebrities? Not really. I prefer to concentrate on ordinary people who seem to be more genuine and down-to-earth.
What are your hopes for the future? To be healthy and have a peaceful death.
