We’ve had a mixed bag of weather recently. Today, we decided to go up Kippax to a shop called ASK which sells everything you could want; anyway, we’ve a lovely, big outside plant pot that our granddaughter bought for us – the only thing wrong with it is the colour which is dark blue and doesn’t match the other pots near our patio which are green. So, we’ve bought a can of green spray paint and my husband has sprayed it and now everything matches perfectly.
Going back to the weather, when we went up Kippax and got in the car park, the heavens opened up and it poured down in torrents for about 10 minutes, trapping us in the car. Consequently, we had to wait for the rain to slow down before we made a dash for our destination, as did other people who were in the same predicament. After that, I went to return a parcel by mail to Damart which is a company I use and which saves me trailing around looking for nice clothes. I was very pleased when the post mistress told me it was free postage this time! – this really made my day as it is not often something is free!
Anyway, Dean’s best friend Brienda has been in hospital, and although she doesn’t really enjoy the experience, she recognises it is the best thing for her at the present time. It really is a good job that there are hospitals when you need them, and the doctors in the NHS do some wonderful work for us all. When we visited her, we went over to Halifax by train before sharing a taxi with Dean to the hospital. She said she was looking forward to a vegetable curry when she got home!
As I’ve mentioned before, we like to go to the fish and chip restaurant in Halifax when we visit Dean, and when everything is normal, I like a really hot, hot chocolate at Marks & Spencer’s.
I have told Dean to slow down a bit as he had a heart attack a couple of years ago and must look after himself better.
There’s not much more to say now, so I’ll write again soon.
Love, June.
