Ingredients:
8 oz of flour
1 level teaspoon of cream of tartar
1 level teaspoon of bicarbonate soda
½ level teaspoon of salt
1 ½ oz of fat/lard/butter
1 tablespoon of treacle
Method:
Rub the fat into the dried ingredients.
Add the treacle and milk and water – mix well.
Roll out on a floured board. Cut into shapes. Bake at 400 F/gas mark 6
